Read about the Cadman glacier here: A stable Antarctic ice shelf collapsed from a 'glaciological tipping point'. I would like to say it is not all doom and gloom, but we need to stop lying to ourselves and prepare. Pakaloo at Daily Kos is happy to dole out their share. https://www.dailykos.com/users/pakalolo
It is not too late to mitigate some of the damage, but we needed goverments to follow through and not just sigb a piece of paper. Here in Canada, the CONsevative Governments in many Provinces seem hell bent to bring it on and hasten it. The anti science and climate denial has taken its toll. The blight of Alberta's tar sands polute and stink no less for changing it's name. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/environment/article/alberta-canadas-tar-sands-is-growing-but-indigenous-people-fight-back
Yje once gorgeous Athabaska area land rights are leased at a public offering to the highest bidder. They are supposed to clean up the mess behing them... but they don't. And while it brings Albertans jobs... the abusers of the land are getting richer than any Canadian. IE: Koch brothers held the largest lease until 2019
I have tried to do all that I can as an individual, and it is a lot compared to most people, but it was a drop in the pan on the fire. (Very soon I will be gone... and I wish I could have done more)
I first saw this 7 years ago... an unheeded warning. Watch the glacier as it cracks and calves and listen to Ludovico Einaudi - "Elegy for the Arctic" .
It is not just glaciers that are collapsing. An alarming read.. a gut wrenching 5 alarm read.
Due to climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss, the world in which civilization was born has already ended. Most people just don't know it yet.

Once Mother Earth has shaken off humanity, then she can recover. Too bad we're taking down so much biodiversity before we go. I'm hoping future technology can save us but expect a pretty brutal future when we deplete resources and food is scarcer.
I wish I was a moron so I could deny science and not worry.
