While we all would like to think that we're past the worst of the pandemic (and let's not push that idea too hard, that's not really the case) there's still a part of our system that is suffering from the extended trauma they've had to endure for the past two years-health care workers, who have literally lived through hell on earth with the pandemic.
The majority of them are tired and worn right out-and they're leaving the health care system, which was in a very perilous state even before the pandemic.
We should hope and pray we don't get another surge as Omicron, because we just won't be able to deal with it.
We're already at the brink.
What COVID Hospitalization Numbers Are Missing
Here's a proposal to fix it: Unvaccinated adults are not treated by the hospitals, and paxlovid, bebtelovimab, and molnupiravir are reserved for vaccinated adults and unvaccinated children. Unvaccinated adults? They can treat their illness with home with soup and rest, as per their memes. We'll send around those "bring out your dead!" carts once a week.
Not vaccinating your child should be considered child abuse as well.
