UPDATE in comments
AP got it right.... and passed on the known info and that it was being taken seriously... as it should be. I hear Twatter was awash with assholes... like this one.
We have our fair share of assholes in Canada as well. This one, however, is our irresponsible opposition leader. Pierre Poilievre, who states with no proof that the explosion at the border crossing was a terrorist attack. He says it in Parliament, in his usual arrogant fashion and with his attacking and snide tone that is blaming Trudeau for not keeping Canadians safe. (This little weasel wants Trudeau's job badly, and sadly the ignorant here are flocking to him tRUMP style)

Was anyone else abusing an incident to make political points? Of course! I will add them when I see them...
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul was calm and sensible, as was Trudeau... staying calm but being on high alert. "At this time, there is no indication of a terrorist attack," Hochul said. "Let me repeat that: At this time, there is no indication of a terrorist-involved attack here at the Rainbow Bridge in Western New York.”
This site has updated info and videos of eye witnesses and CCTV images without the breathless schlock from CNN. (I am doing my best to boycott)
What changed from early reports: Everyone was on high alert, of course, and that alone was the reason for the freaks to freak out. There was no sign of explosives found. We now know the vehicle came from the US side. There may have been only 1 passenger. (This may change again. First said 2 men; now a man and a woman, likely again because of casino footage?) The explosion was destructive, leaving just the engine fairly intact. The car was going very fast; over 100 MPH according to witnesses. It swerved out of control after passing another vehicle, hit the barrier fence and the fence likely made a ramp onto the cement barriers behind it. That was likely why the vehicle was "flying." (My guess anyhoo...) CCTV images from a Niagara Resort and Casino, show he had been parked there earlier. He was on a street that may or may not have been going across the border. The resulting crash into the border crossing is looking more and more like a horrific accident, but only time will tell for certain what happened.
If it really was a Bentley... this could also come into play. He may also have had a heart attack or some other issue, like drinking and driving (free drinks at the casino?), but that will be determined later by his medical records and the investigation.
2018-2021 Bentley Continental GT and Flying Spur recalled with risk of stuck accelerator
A manufacturing fault could cause the accelerator to get stuck when engaged, according to the manufacturer. https://www.drive.com.au/news/2018-2021-bentley-continental-gt-and-flying-spur-recalled/
Ron said all along it was not a terror attack, but has gone overboard in the other direction. They know who the vehicle was registered to and that he was going to attend a concert that was cancelled. Hence the "joke."
Update 4
The car was a Bentley Flying star.
The recalls were only in Australia - in right side steering models.
The couple were only in the casino a short while, so not drinking heavily.
The police have asked for the unhelpful idiots to stop terrorism rumours.
The forensics will take a long time to complete, with little left to examine.
Bentleys have a 'black box' of sorts that may be retrievable.
A local Niagra news site has more. Sound down to start.
The curve where it happened. It is unusually curved cement, I think. Or, perhaps I just did not notice before.
It was likely put there as a safety feature and the heightened as a border protection feature, as these are ... Guard rails save lives but can be deadly in an accident that happens at the end of them...
I forgot to add this the day of the crash. Some numbskull had to ask this:
And from yesterday... John Galt chimes in:
