April 5 nationwide, “HANDS OFF, National Day of Protest”
Allow me to firstly share a personal story.
I once worked for and was a local Union President of a corporation. It had hired for the first time, a POS American CEO who decide to "reorganize" the company. It was a slash and burn. Not surprisingly, he also increased his salary by 400% and hired outside negotiators to "deal" with us . During a very short period of economic gains, the retirement benefits were showing a huge surplus. So the corporations had a "GREAT" idea... to spend the surplus! But you see, that surplus is there to insure money will be there for retirees during downturns... and very few employees had reached the age of retirement. There was nothing we could do as no laws could protect us...
Nonetheless, the unions and employees went into demonstration mode across the country. We lobbied government hard. We started our OWN separate organization with employee administrators and trustees to take over the retirement monies to a trust. In turn, a special government agency was formed to protect retirement benefits and retirement laws were restructured. Today, as many of us are retired (I am on a reduced pension myself because of health, but still benefit from the action taken) we are thankful that people came out in droves to do the right thing...and it was not just union members...or employees.
The PUBLIC was on our side because it was literal THIEVERY, as is taking money paid into SSI!

SSI is not a Ponzi scheme!
But how many dumb MAGA will believe it? How many could care less if Grandma dies on the streets? Answer: Too many and here's proof... NOTE: He was fact checked, and he short changed how much would be paid out even should SSI is not fixed as per newer data added below.

"This is a nationwide mobilization to stop the most brazen power grab in modern history. Trump, Musk, and their billionaire cronies are orchestrating an all-out assault on our government, our economy, and our basic rights—enabled by Congress every step of the way.
They want to strip America for parts—shuttering Social Security offices, firing essential workers, eliminating consumer protections, and gutting Medicaid—all to bankroll their billionaire tax scam. They’re handing over our tax dollars, our public services, and our democracy to the ultra-rich."
New SSI rules
If you cannot use the online service… Social Security's New Rule in person identity verification for new applicants (10k a day) and anyone who has changes to their original application or bank info ... while they close field offices and get rid of thousands of employees. According to an official statement from the SSA, individuals who cannot log in to their online accounts or are experiencing access issues will now have to verify their identity in person at a local SSA office.
They are making it harder...
"We’re fighting to protect and expand Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid; lower drug prices; ensure economic justice for all; and guarantee health care as a human right—because everyone deserves to live in dignity." [Except those who have limited mobility or are disabled, have no family to help, have no access to a vehicle or bus service, are unable to access a computer or have no online service, those who already had limited access to a nearby field office and for those whose offices are already closed.]
What Should You Do?
If you are currently able to log in to your my Social Security account online, experts recommend verify that your access remains secure to avoid the need for an in-person visit.
