Because there are plenty of other commentators like him, he must make his claims as bombastic and outrageous as possible to stand out and keep his fans listening to him and not others (which of course means more advertising revenue, the whole point of his shit show). His listeners don't actually stop to think about the results of or repercussions from his claims.
