Uncontrolled Spread: Why COVID-19 Crushed Us and How We Can Defeat the Next Pandemic
Book by Scott Gottlieb
I don't agree with his politics and I think he fails to point out critical failures b the White House. The book does make some good point on how we had a plan based on the Flu vs an aerosolized contagion and fomite driven spread. Also the failure of govt' agencies to work together, lack of testing etc. Sort of like the 9/11 report
It's too bad covid wasn't actually like the flu. As we learned from 2020, toss on whatever masks are laying around and half ass social distance, and flu essentially disappears.
Wasn't that alone a huge lesson? A flu pandemic seems much less scary now that we know how easily it can be defeated.
