Just reading the stories popping up, battery fires that won't quit, two guys died after getting trapped in an autopilot fail, and this guy almost didn't get out when everything shut down. There's apparently a manual override underneath the window/door controls but not everyone knows about it. YIKES.

I think this is a combination effect - tesla‘s self-deriving software is prone to crashes and idiots love to take selfies in the back seat as their car careens down the highway.
The wrecks might not happen if the ”drivers” would monitor the car like they are supposed to, but Tesla lets them do that in the effort to get those selfies, tik-toks, or whatever free advertising.
It’s not unlike republicans being moths to a flame around antivax idiocy. There are some drivers drawn to the Tesla brand who are criminally stupid, and Tesla feeds that essentially for the clicks.
Another one. These things are a fucking menace. https://www.ocregister.com/2022/05/13/3-killed-when-tesla-slams-into-construction-equipment-in-newport-beach/amp/
And Musk the genius is tanking the stock of his biggest asset yet his fanboys are still saying he is genius?
Screw that!
