Well (thanks, 23andMe), my DNA contains less than 2% Neanderthal. How exactly would this affect my risk in that regard? I have a feeling the answer is, who knows.
I remember reading about this, somewhere around the middle (?) of the pandemic.

I've also read a theory that Neanderthals got wiped out by diseases they caught from our species.
When I think about the damage done by smallpox to indigeneous people, I suppose it could be true.
