Huffington Post has an article about what the anti-abortion crew is up to now - restricting interstate travel.
It’s complicated but the union was set up for the common good and it was presumed that travel between states is a part of that. Wrapped up in that is the question of one states’ rights to prosecute citizens for illegal activities in other states even if those activities are legal where they are conducted. It’s kind of a question of does your state ”own” you and have the right to control your activities in other states and by extension, even outside the country.
It’s very fucked because this is where the anti-abortion morons are going now - trying to prosecute citizens for things they do in other states and policing a woman’s travel across state lines.
The states on the front line of this are the usual assholes - Texas is leading in pushing for new laws against its citizens. It’s complicated because they are looking at ways to go after out of state abortion providers, out of state abortion drug providers, etc. At least right now, any providers Texas wants to fuck over can just ignore a summons but the case will be decided against them in absentia and there can even be arrest warrants issued. Providers won’t be able to travel to or through Texas (or other similar asshole states they may have offended) without risk of arrest.
States leading this charge are Texas, Utah, and South Dakota. Montana abortion providers are having to check where patients are from so they can presumably refuse care to South Dakotans for fear they would take abortion pills back home with them and implicate the providers.
A big part of this is the aggressive stances these asshole states are taking and the legal uncertainty it creates for providers. The chilling effect is exactly what these states want.
Time for cancel culture, folks. Boycott all products that you can from these states. If it says Texas on it, leave it on the shelf. Don’t travel to them or through them. Keep an eye on this and isolate these fuckers. It’s the only way to hurt them back and pressure them to come back to reality. Donate to candidates in them who are challenging this behavior.

I hope all companies and corporations boycott these assholes. There will be a brain drain because of this too. Smart and good people will leave these states as the states sink further into the conservative cesspool.
And good luck to Elon Musk for pulling car plants out of California and moving them to Texas. The plants aren’t fully open and are burning money. And when they do open, Musk will have a crap ton of god-fearin’ inbreds ready to turn wrenches on cars that few will buy.
Agree, cancel culture good, money is power.
I really hope Tesla sales fall, after Musk declaring his true red colour. There are more EVs now, to choose from.
It's a pity the Dem states have to keep subsidising the Red ones.
I wonder how the Repuqs would keep the wheels turning, if they got their wish of disenfranchising all Democrats?
This, exactly. I gave up my favorite sparkling water, Waterloo, because it's a Texas brand. Switched to good old Polar (made in Massachusetts).
In Maine, there is legislation pending that forbids any health care provider from cooperating with other states looking to find information about anyone from that state coming to Maine for an abortion.
That's what's required.
Maine is not letting the American Taliban dictate to us. Fuck them. We'll do everything we can to help women keep their reproductive rights.
And all this was put into motion by the "party of smaller government".

A resounding YES. Well said, TheyShould.
