(As Cleopatra once quipped.) I've been stuck four times with the Pfizer SARS-2-CoV vaccine with little trouble. But for the last two days, wondered why I felt like a freight train ran me over. Turns out it was Shingrix (shingles) Dose #2. The first shot was no biggie but this one put my immune system in "lock down the hatches" mode. Yesterday, I kept taking to my bed. Today my energy is better but not where it usually is. Still, I'm certain a couple of days of weirdness is preferable to a couple of weeks of dermal torture!

I agree! I had all four Moderna jabs, and a little arm soreness. First maybe a little achiness, but Shingrix - dayyum! But, even though I felt like poo for a few days, far better than what shingles does. Also, I believe that the second one was better than the first, as far as side effects.
I got the Shingrix doses late last year and early this year. Just chills, a little tired, and slight fever. It was actually very much like the covid shots for me.
Just to let folks know not all reactions are severe. Really sorry to hear about those having strong reactions. I guess it’s somewhat like planning for a colonoscopy… 😁
3 of the 4 Modernas knocked me pretty hard. Shingrix nearly effing took me out. Caused a massive auto immune flare. Lasted for weeks. Super harsh. I fear shingles so it’s a super bummer that I cannot risk the second dose. Interestingly I’ve never heard of Shingrix protests or people screaming about not knowing what’s in it, etc, and blah blah.
That was always a tough call as a vaccinator this past year. I would have people sign up for Moderna and Shingrix and I actually did discourage a few of them to NOT get the Shingrix at the same time knowing how bad that one can kick peoples asses.
