I've been occupying myself lately by monitoring the war in Ukraine using some tools that I've stumbled across. I thought that I'd share them with you all.
First up is:
https://globe.adsbexchange.com/
Click on "U" to see the military flights. Click on the plane to get its details. Then pull up
Find the planes of interest in the Multi View mode and click on the "Show only selected aircraft" icon.
Flightrader24 allows you to go back in time and playback flights. Unfortunately, you can't select military flights with FR24 (or at least I haven't been able to figure a way). ADS-B Exchange can do this but doesn't playback (as far as I can see).
For those of a nautical bent, this sight will be interesting:
Click on a ship to find out its details. There are all sorts of fun tools to play with. Hours of entertainment!
Finally there is NASA's FIRMS site:
This site was set up for monitoring forest fires, but works quite well in a war setting.
Have fun!
PS. If anyone has any others, please feel free to add to the list.
PPS. A video on how to use the FIRMS site is here.
