Bringing this thread back to life in the hope that RPN will grace us with his presence again. And also, yeah, we gotta get kiddos to move to the zip codes that help us leverage our power. I need Mary and hotrudderedbum to help me out here. Until RPN returns. Ever the optimist! Let’s roll!

Not unless I can live in Stephen King's house.
I adore Fogelberg's music. What a neat story that is!
A little Maine music to lift this thread up?
As it happens, for 15 years I owned Dan's former sailboat. His music and memories of times spent on that boat are very dear to me.
Route 1A - Aroostook County Fort Fairfield, Maine
Don't they get snow in Maine? Dig out driveways? Chain up, or use noisy snow tires? And have to wear long pants most days?
It's a no from this California boy. But please send lobsters anyway.
I was 100% serious when I said on his original forum post that we had just started discussing moving up there. I'm sad he's gone and hopeful someone can persuade him to come back. I didn't see the thread but when I heard about it and saw the original Maine post was gone my heart sunk.
I know these won't exactly send people hurrying to move up to the county with Ratty, but it's good to know that there are always plenty of these to be had here, year round, and sometimes pretty damn cheap...
Maine oysters are really developing a reputation for clean, briny, bright taste!
As a Mainer you can amateur fish 5 lobster traps so long as you don't sell your catch...
Here's one day's catch of what we call chix or chicken lobsters, roughly 1 1/4- 1 1/2 lbs each...
When you get tired of eating lobster in the shell you can make lobster rolls, another wonderful Maine tradition! This one is all knuckle meat, my favorite body part...
Throw in a lobster leg appetizer and a tossed salad and Mama's happy!
Homegrown oysters whenever ya want'em...
This is how the bugs look when you first haul the trap aboard, these are mostly shorts...
This is me hauling by hand. I built the skiff and even that davit, or crane, that you see the trap hanging from...
And that, good people, is enough food network stuff for one night! Sleep well, all!
Well, drama or no drama, I am now 100% getting my arse to Maine at some point. I really liked the other Maine thread. My plan is to drive through on my way to Nova Scotia where my peeps used to live before they lost their fucking marbles and came ot the USA. They’re all dead now or I might slap them. Anyway, Maine, I’ll get there!
Please come back,RPN
For the record, anyone capable of giving $ to that fam is retaining their humanity better than I am. And I’m not judging anyone that isn’t giving. It’s a rough subject and nobody should flame anyone over it. I couldn’t do it. But I’d give to Harold again in a heartbeat.
Funny. I went looking here to contact him after his brawl, that's how I knew something was wrong.
I've never been to Maine, which is no big deal except that it's only one of five I've never been to, so even if I don't move there, it's on my bucket list.
Might be moving to Vermont soon though, then I can come visit,
Oh yeah, and RNP if you see this buddy, the dipshit apologizes (I'm just kidding we both know he's not the type), but he has been well behaved since, so I believe he got a stern warning. And please, please comeback, it was all just a misunderstanding
Come on, people, look at this. I wish my work were mobile. This is practically free.
