I've been looking at https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ and am noticing a rather serious rise in cases and deaths in Germany with smaller upticks in France and Italy. It looks to me like they are heading for case and death rates approaching about 1/3rd of what they were a year ago. Comparing last years graphs for Europe to those for the U.S. I think there is a case to be made that the U.S. death rate could go above 900 per day by the end of January.

Thanks for the heads-up! Or the thumbs-down to anti-vaxnuts, to be more precise.
Yeah, the trends don't look good, and even worse when flu is added in. I just got the bivalent booster today, and I'll be continuing to mask in public. Thank you for this information! I hope you and yours stay well.
It could be another grim winter. I have some in-laws that refuse to get vaccinated due to all the misinformation. Luckily we were able to talk my MIL into getting the vaccine without any fuss. When Covid hit their small town last fall, she had a cold for a few days while her unvaccinated son was very sick for 8 weeks. I dread what could happen this winter.
