You may as well tell a xtian that Jesus won't be returning. That Mary wasn't a virgin, that Jesus didn't feed a multitude from a bottomless basket of fish and bread, that Jesus didn't rise from death, that Jesus didn't walk on water or cure blindness, that Noah put all earthly creatures on a big boat to save them and hundreds of other stupid lies that the gullible chumps believe.
The problem is the issue of Identity Politics. I believe that so many AV folks know that their positions are nonsense, but they dig in out of loyalty to their ”tribe.”
When I first found this site I frequently looked up victim's FBook pages and if they still allowed comments occasionally posted rude or derisive comments. That surely didn't help the cause and I regret my insensitivity.
On at least 3 occasions, Shamgar Conners, that long haired Christian rock guy that died and the filtered MILF from northern Idaho I actually engaged with they or their families and found them unmoved to reconsider getting the vaccine. The family of the rocker and milf absolutely dug in deeper in their anti stance and didn't hesitate to use rude language in response.
Shamgar Conners pretty much chuckled about everything I said, even when I tried to use reason and logic, and would laugh everything off. He's a maroon.
So, no, in my experience, we've only made them more reluctant to vax.
The educational purpose of this site has probably changed from its original intent, which was to expose the real risks of being unvaccinated in the face of rampant disinformation. As time now tells, all it can do is bring awareness of the abundance of delusion and moral stupidity out there--only stoppable one covid death at a time.
If you look at the first few dozen posts, it did appear to have more of an educational framing. I think along the way Vaxman started to find the stoories infuriating and started to give us more insight into the sorts of idiots we are dealing with.
Lettuce be cereal. While we do hope this site may help sway the rare random anti-vaxxer who isn't a terrible person, this site is really all about schadenfreude.
According to Vaxman, "the purpose of this site is educational". Schadenfreude is natural when an obnoxious racist lowlife gets their comeuppance, but that's not really why Vaxman created this site.
My observation has been that the same stupidity that made them antiva in the first place, causes them to double down, and call us "evil," etc. They're blinded by an unfortunate combination of myopia, cognitive dissonance, and confirmation bias.
The problem isn't that they were wrong; no, the problem is that we're "mean," or we're "celebrating."
There was a gal who posted one night that the site had helped her get vaxxed. She’d been scared to do it. Fertility reasons. Either trying to get pregnant or was already pregnant. But she posted that the site had gotten her out of the bubble. She vaccinated and was pregnant.
I talked my former SIL into getting her first two shots, telling her some of the SAV stories to illustrate how deadly COVID and disinformation could be. One especially effective blurb was telling her about the Alabama ER doctor who said her patients often beg for the shots but she has to tell them it's too late. SIL was surprised to hear that it could be too late.
Since then, she seems to be listening to her anti-vax daughters, spouting the "but pharma profits" and "never-ending shots" nonsense instead of getting her boosters. We've been through all this before, and I've stopped trying. I'm sure she won't read links, she refuses to pay attention to much news at all.
I'm opposed to poll taxes, but I sure wish voters would have to pass a current events test before they cast a ballot.
@Stop the Madness “What American president lives in his own private personal exclusive resort with his fabulous supermodel wife?”
None of them? Malaria isn't attractive at all and wasn’t a supermodel. She is a surgically-altered to permanent cat eyes soft core porn model and licensed sex worker in Amsterdam or something like that.
Malaria is a gold digger and only with a pig like trump because he pays her off.
Can't remember his name now, but there was a guy early on in the anti-vaxxer profiles, a die hard conservative who nevertheless had his moment of realization and became a strong advocate for vaccines.
I have posted the link to this site to a lot of antivaxxers, and I have no idea if it swayed any of them. If they looked at all the dead antivaxxers, and saw they all posted the same dumb memes before they got sick and died, it ought to give them pause.
That is a very good question. I sure hope so. That is the sole reason I joined this site after lurking for many months and support it financially the best I can. I don’t expect this site to turn Rebublicans into Democrats or “born again“ Christians into atheists, but I do hope they will see that they have been seriously misled and indeed “played” by their leaders and news sources. In short, I want to see them get fully vaxxed and boosted ASAP and then they can work the rest of it out or not.

The more that didn't, the better.

Unlike an unvaccinated covid victim who has no choice in the matter, I wouldn’t hold your breath… 😁
Sadly, it only seems to have made them mad. But I hope I'm wrong.
