Australia's versions of "Fox News" opinion hosts Copium

The first was their next to nothing response to climate change, and very weak commitments to transition from fossil fuels (which are their main donors) to renewable energy technology in the near future. It didn't help that the tone deaf conservative prime minister decided in secret to take his family on a holiday in Hawaii while out of control forest fires burned across the whole country wiping out communities, wildlife, and peoples loss of life.

When a photo of him, and his family was leaked to the Australian press, he grudgingly cut his holiday short to come back to Australia, as the "optics" didn't look good. Remember Ted Cruz's busted holiday to Cancun while those in Texas froze to death? Similar thing.

When a member of the press asked the prime minister about the optics of he, and his family on holiday while Australia burned his response was "I don't hold a hose" (referring to rural fire fighters holding hoses).

Prime Minister Scott Morrison claimed he had told the opposition he was headed to Hawaii during the catastrophic bushfires in 2019 — only to be made to clarify his comments twice just hours later.

Note: that a previous Australian prime minister (who was more awful) at least volunteered every year to help out the rural fire fighters at the "front lines" of the bush fires.

The other main issue was their broken promise of forming an federal independent commission against corruption, that had the powers, and resources to investigate corruption by federal politicians.

In the state I live, their is one that has caught out, and publicly announced state politicians, including "Premiers" of state political parties that have been engaged in corrupt practices to enrich their donors, and/or themselves.

The previous federal conservatives tried to introduce their own version of a commision, but it was so weak, and ineffective that many independent mp's that had sided with the conservatives voted it down.

This is the one our state has, and it's role.

There were many other issues, that I could continue on, and on, and on, but I'll spare you the pain of reading it all.

They held the Australian public in contempt, and flaunted their "born to rule" entitlement in our faces, so we showed them the door into political irrelevancy.
