According to her mother's social media posts (below), Rhonda died of COVID on December 1, 2021. Rhonda, an LPN, was apparently against vaccines going back to 2016 and perhaps earlier. She got a bad case of COVID in December 2020 and came out of it in mid January, 2021, but suffered with long COVID, even delaying some surgery she was supposed to have. Despite her suffering, however, she remained against vaccines (as you'll see). But then she got COVID again, and this time it took her out. Her mother seems angry at her.

A college buddy of mine ran the Iditarod for years. Four of us went up to see him in Nome for the finish of the 1999 race. I am becoming immune. I mean, my ability to feel sympathy has completely dissipated. I have read too many of these foolish stories now.
I should feel sad - but I find I do not.
I just feel angry, more than anything.
